Camp Bisco is a festival that does not stand in comparison with many others. For years the festival has stood strong as one where the values of positivity and joy are flowing out of the crowd as people from all over come together for a weekend they'll never forget. With uncertainty and location issues forcing the festival to call off their event in 2014, 2015 was a shaky year for Bisco. Some fans were nervous that a new location could taint the legendary status of the festival and create for an experience that would not meet the standards of the festivals dedicated attendees. However, 2015 was an extremely successful year for the festival, and included nothing but friendly vibes, a loving attitude between attendees, and incredible performances by legends like The Disco Biscuits, Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, and many more. After the festival proved its worth at its new location in 2015, the community has been buzzing about what 2016 will bring.
Finally the lineup has been released for 2016 and it does not disappoint in the slightest. At first when we checked out the lineup, we got blinded by the lack of a major headliner like Pretty Lights or Bassnectar, as we were expecting at least one of the two to be included in the weekends festivities. Usually the followings of Derek and Lorin bring massive numbers when it comes to fans, and we were a little weary of the lineup without either of them featured. However, when looking closer at the lineup, it is clear that there is no lack of talent. The biggest headlining names that stuck out to us were trap monster RL Grime, Canadian Bass Legends Zeds Dead, and the biggest act of the entire festival, a special performance by Big Grizmatik, a collaborative performance of the funkiest names in dance music in Griz, Big Gigantic, and Gramatik.
Looking at the smaller names on the lineup, there is a fantastic balance between up and coming electronic acts, and a plethora of live music as well. Some extremely talented electronic names on the smaller end of the lineup are Marshmello, Troyboi, and Rezz while the live acts on the lineup feature names like Lil Dicky, Lettuce, and The New Deal.
Overall while the lineup does not feature some of the bigger headliners that we were expecting, it features a great diversity in the acts coming to Montage this year, and allows for the founders of the festival, The Disco Biscuits, to shine at the event they love the most. We could not be more excited for this years travels to Montage Mountain and can't wait for another perfect year at Camp Bisco.
