Toronto native and trap producer, FITGERVLD, provides us a laid back, future-trap oriented track full of organic percussion, processed and chopped vocal bits, and of course hard hitting 808s. Within the scene, we have seen a paradigm shift in trap music, even as of recent; it seems to be one of the quickest evolving genres within electronic dance music. If you listen to trap music back when it broke into the mainstream (arguably) with Carnage's rendition of Hardwell's, ‘Spaceman', it has shifted to more of a melodic and harmony driven sound concentrating on telling a narrative story rather than focusing on who could produce a filthier drop. FITZGERVLD exposes us to his production talent and introduces us to a melded vision of future bass elements, mixed with organic percussion instruments, and vocal melody lines; the driving element of this track. Take a listen below and let us know what you think in the comments section!
