With his brand new dance-floor ready EP “Nightfires Vol.1” out now and already doing the rounds, we decided to get hold of UK producer and DJ Kove to hear the five tunes he considers musical guilty pleasures. We're already hyped for the next D&B/country fusion to come from his studio…
1) Korpiklaani – “Vodka”
A loud, silly folk metal tune with “drinking is good for you” as the main hook. Beat that.
2) Zac Brown Band – “Chicken Fried”
Country tunes like this put a smile on my face. I must try writing one, one day. I think the general idea is to just list things you like? Seems simple enough.
3) Hall & Oates – “Private Eyes”
“John, we're onto a winner here! You add some more gated reverb to this, I'll get the zoot suits for the video.” *CLAP CLAP*
4) Tiesto – “Sweet Things”
One of the first dance albums I had was “Elements of Life”. You can't deny that chord change in the chorus is a bit spine-tingly.
5) Motley Crue – “Kickstart My Heart”
It's actually been proven it's impossible to not turn this up when it comes on. Unless you really don't like the Crue. In which case, you're probably a dick.
Bag the new EP here.
