This past weekend, EDMSauce had the chance to attend a one-night-only Saturday performance of Fuerza Bruta with legendary British DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold on the turntables in New York City. Fuerza Bruta, originating from Buenos Aires, Argentina has entertained audiences in the big apple for almost a decade; getting it's start in 2007. The 65-minute live performance takes the audience on an out of this world thrill ride, filled with unpredictability and excitement.
After seeing Fuerza Bruta last spring, this performance was definitely maximized with the iconic Paul Oakenfold in the booth adding sick energetic and melodic trance beats that paired perfectly with the show. The live show felt like a combination of an EDM rave with Paul’s DJ set and the vibrant LED visuals as well as a circus act with acrobats strapped to apparatus dancing, flipping, and sometimes running and twirling above the standing audience.
Fuerza Bruta’s creator and artistic director Diqui James believed teaming up with Paul Oakenfold would bring a special element to the show. “We met with Paul in Buenos Aires and were immediately excited about doing something together…We feel that the blending of our worlds is an opportunity to create a truly unique and immersive experience and we want audiences to feel submerged in the mix – the best from Paul Oakenfold and the best from Fuerza Bruta…”
Paul Oakenfold added an engaging and exhilarating vibe to the night. Fuerza Bruta made a great choice in pairing Paul and electronic music to their artistic live show!
