After their successful release back in 2011 with “We Found Love,” The Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum artist Calvin Harris has teamed up once again with Rihanna.
The highly anticipated release “This Is What You Came For” is the duo's second collaboration and comes after selling more than 10 million copies worldwide of “We Found Love.” Their 2011 collaboration remains to be one of electronic music's most influential hits and has helped cement EDM's success to the mainstream.
The marketing for “This Is What You Came For” began when Rihanna took a surprise slow during Calvin Harris' set at Coachella. Taylor Swift wore this jacket with a picture of a lightning bolt during Coachella, which then in turn Calvin Harris then began to spread throughout his social media platforms.
“I try to fuse real feeling, emotion and texture – the sort of thing you feel in rock and pop – and making that in dance, because it felt like dance was a little bit 2D,” said Calvin Harris. “The end effect is you have something that is more emotional, and sounds that conjure memories.”
