Before today, I had never heard of Bassline Drift. After hearing this track and discovering the talent that this duo has, it only seems fitting to share their latest production with the interwebs and get their new track “Anchor” the recognition it deserves. The group is made up of two members, Keli Mark and Rachel Lindsay, who come from radically different areas of the nation. With Mark hailing from Austin, TX and Lindsay from New York City, NY, their sound is not defined by one place or experience. It's not even defined by one genre, but what it does do is sparks emotion in your ears and subsequently your heart.
Their new track “Anchor” begins with fleeting synths that are quietly accompanied with angelic vocals. The vocals speak of a relationship which has recently come to an end, something almost everyone can relate to. We've all been there, up late at night, unable to sleep, stuck wondering what happened with our significant other. The chilled out vibe to this song coupled with perfect production and drum patterns creates for a musical representation of what it feels to lay in bed late on those nights. Thank you Bassline Drift, you two have really outdone yourselves and in the process have found a place on this writers radar.
