Just as soon as the hype for “Damn, Daniel” began to wear off comes yet another viral sensation. This time around, the viral sensation revolves around the ‘Running Man Challenge' which is a viral dance craze.
The ‘Running Man Challenge' was created by two young men from Hillside, New Jersey named Kevin Vincent and Jeremiah Hall. The dance was soon picked up by Jaylen Brantley and Jared Nickens from the University of Maryland Basketball team. The challenge is simple: do a variation of the running man to an old song made famous in the 90s titled “My Boo” by Ghost Town DJs. The first video of the dance was posted only a few weeks ago, but has already made its way onto Ellen as well as viral videos being posted daily.
“My Boo” was a debut single released by the Atlanta-based hip hop group Ghost Town DJs. The song was released off of Jermaine Dupri's So So Def label on May 21, 1996 and was released on vinyl and CD on the So So Def Bass All-Stars album. The song was made popular in the 90's due to its high-tempo electronic beat along with the sultry R&B-style vocals.
