The iconic filmmaker Stanley Kubrick will be honored with a new exhibition at London's Somerset House this summer. The showcase will feature contributions from a long list of creatives from both the art and culture world and will include works from Daft Punk's own Thomas Bangalter.
Thomas Bangalter and a group of artists will be providing a new or existing work inspired by Kubrick “responding to a film, scene, character or theme from the Kubrick archives, or even the man himself.” “Together they will bring new perspectives on the cinematic master’s life and work.”
Although Daft Punk never had the opportunity to work with the film genius, Daft Punk were definitely inspired by Stanley Kubrick as their song “Contact” syncs up almost perfectly with certain scenes from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
