UPDATE: It appears that Die Antwoord is not planning on breaking up. Prawn_Star wrote that the journalist “Daryl Keating” wrote an article that twisted his words and completely took everything they had said out of context. “This is a lie. An Daryl sucks.”
One of our favorite South African groups, Die Antwoord, has announced their plans to disband in September of next year.
The Rap-rave duo confirmed to Exclaim! saying that “Die Antwoord dies on that day. It's all over. I feel beautiful about it. I'm not scared of the end. I'm a Ninja. I'm not scared of death.”
For those of you unfamiliar with Die Antwoord (Afrikaans for “The Answer”) is a South African group that formed in Cape Town in 2008. The group's image is based on a counterculture movement known as zef in South Africa and incorporated many elements from the photographer Roger Ballen.
