On September 6th, The Chainsmokers hinted at an upcoming album, but said that an album is a big deal. It's not just a compilation of random singles, but it is coming more complete that reflects a time in their lives.
With the return of the album in dance music, it seems that the album would be here to stay. The Scottish superstar DJ/producer who has earned more than any other DJ for the past four years has other ideas though. According to multiple sources, Calvin Harris has decided to not realase any more studio-length albums in the future.
Someone close to Harris told The Sun that he “has always been a forward-thinker and believes just releasing singles is the way forward.”
Are albums on their way out? Only time will tell.
