Update: Day For Night has responded to our inquiry and tragically this was a joke. I guess Aphex Twin will have to suffice…
Houston's own Day for Night has made headlines across the nation this week with the announcement that Aphex Twin will be playing his first US show in nearly 8 years. Today they announced their full line up and it is one of the best we have seen this year. The music and visual arts festival has curated a line up of some of the best and most innovative acts in and out of the dance music world. Headlining is of course Aphex Twin but also Bjork, Odesza, and Kaskade as well as some incredible hip hop acts such as Run the Jewels and indie rock bands like Butthole Surfers.
The festival is known for its incredible display of visual art as well as its music so it is going to be an incredible few days of art in various forms. The kicker for this festival is the bottom of their line up on the website. We are not quite sure if this is legitimate or not yet, but Harambe is on the line up. It says that a hologram of everyone's favorite gorilla will be featured. We can only hope this is in fact not a joke. We reached out to Day for Night with an inquiry but so far we have not heard back. We will keep you updated as we find out more. Lets all hope we can say good bye to our sweet primate prince in person one last time. You can buy tickets now!
