Nick Martin is a name you need to remember. While many artists today continue to find what sound will draw in the most attention from crowds, Grecian producer Nick Martin remains grounded in his journey to fashion music that speaks to him personally. The up-and-coming talent has already garnered the attention of many fans and artists for his melody-driven sets across southern Europe, and now he's ready to push out brand-new tunes that will take him into the later months of the year. Nick Martin sat down recently to speak about his summer tour and discuss the inspiration behind his forthcoming single, “Skyline,” featuring Tigerlily.
You recently finished up a packed summer tour, how was your experience and what performance has been your favorite so far?
This summer was amazing. Incredible shows combined with great friends and the best music fans on earth. All of my shows at Ushuaia were unforgettable and Cavo Paradiso in Mykonos with David Guetta was epic. We filmed part of the “Skyline” video that night with Tigerlily. When people see the video I think they will feel the energy of that magical night.
You have a lot of new music coming out this fall, where do you draw your inspiration from to get yourself in a creative mindset?
Life is my inspiration. I am always listening, always producing, always learning. I love the creative process and I respect the process. Songs inspire me and in my opinion being able to take a song from being an simple idea to a worldwide release is the ultimate expression of art.
In your new single, “Skyline” you collaborated with DJ/vocalist Tigerlily, can you tell us about the creative process working with her?
I had a summer writing camp at Blackrock Studios Santorini Greece. That was were we created “Skyline”. Tigerlily is someone I have been watching grow for a while but realized she had not yet released a song where she was the featured lead vocalist. One thing lead to another and vocally she crushed it. We had fun making the record and shooting the video in Greece. I am proud of this song and proud of the video.
Compared to your previous releases, what’s new about this track that you’re excited about?
I am an international DJ/producer. “Skyline” is a global song. It speaks to everyone in every language. I think songs like this make people make people dance, sing and feel good. That is important to me. Collaborating is great, it adds an additional layer of challenge which you learn from and I feel makes you a better producer. The song is being released on Investo Music LTD / Universal Music globally on Sept 16th, hopefully people like it.
What can fans expect from you for the rest of 2016?
USA shows, more songs and more surprises are on the way. I can’t wait to share more music with the world.
