On Friday, Snapchat announced that it has decided to change its name to Snap Inc. The rebranded name seems to be more fitting for the company since the company is now much more than a social app. And with this new name change, Snapchat is also branching into a new territory, smart sunglasses.
Snapchat accidentally revealed the new $129 sunglasses called ‘Spectacles' which will be available for a limited distribution. You may be asking Snapchat and sunglasses? In a leaked video, the sunglasses will apparently record 10-second clips of video through its 115-degree angle lens.
So now dance music fans from all over the world can wear their newest rave glasses and capture 10 seconds of their favorite DJ sets.
While the sunglasses aren't available yet, however they will be available in black, teal and coral. The Glasses record the video in a circular field instead of the usual rectangle and can then be transfered to your phone and shared to all of your friends on Snapchat.
