Back in August, Spotify's founder Daniel Ek made certain comments which raised questions about whether or not Spotify was looking to acquire SoundCloud.
Sources later revealed that SoundCloud was considering a sale of the company if the buyer had met the valuation of $1 billion USD.
With over 40 million paying subscribers, Spotify has become the true leader in the online music streaming platforms. SoundCloud on the other hand has become the go to streaming platform for emerging producers and musicians.
