Skrillex and Deadmau5 have a past that many of us have known today as being good, but not completely good. At the start of it all, before Sonny was known as “Skrillex”, Joel took Sonny under his wing and helped him to become what he is today. The two were pretty good friends for a while; Sonny even starred in one of Deadmau5's coffee run videos beside Dillon Francis. Unfortunately, the relationship changed after a twitter battle started between the two late last year.
Almost a year ago, on Halloween weekend, Deadmau5 took the initiative to attack Skrillex's collaboration with Diplo, that created the popular duo known today as Jack U. He also shared some hate comments towards the “Where Are You Now” singer, Justin Bieber. Skrillex later defended himself by hating on Deadmau5's record label stating, “I feel sorry for the artist's you've signed.” Since then, the two don't associate with each other anymore, ending the close bond that they once had.
During a recent interview with Complex, Skrillex shared a more recent issue with the Mau5 star that was initiated again on twitter. During Ultra Music Festival this year, Deadmau5 and Marshmello bantered over twitter about an interview that Marshmello wanted to hold with the fellow DJ. Joel believed that Marshmello was stalking him, claiming hat he followed him wherever he went. Although it is not clear about what exactly happened that day, Skrillex decided to share some comments about the issue, making it clear that he wasn't cool with the arguments. He pointed out that Deadmau5 likes to be a bully to people on the internet.
In the interview, Skrillex said:
“The only time I really got upset [with deadmau5] was when he started taking stabs at Marshmello, acting like such a fucking bully. Marshmello is this young kid who looks up to deadmau5, and the first tweet he gets from deadmau5 is talking shit about him. That’s when I had to stand up and be like, ‘Stop being a fucking bully to people.’”
