Daft Punk and The Weeknd broke the internet a few weeks ago with an announcement of a collaboration in the works and then shortly after, the release of “Starboy”. The track was excellent but was met with some criticism. This was mostly from the dance music community, who was widely let down that Daft Punk was not at the forefront in this collaboration. Since the robots were only on the track as producers, The Weeknd was the feature of this tune. If the listener can look past the Daft Punk name and hear the track for what it is, it is excellent.
Well an unlikely source in the world of music revealed some astounding new information to the collaborators work together. The Wall Street Journal wrote an in depth piece on The Weeknd and hidden away in many lines of text was one that stopped the hearts of dance music and RB fans alike, “the remarkably spontaneous sessions yielded two songs on the album.” Yes there it was, there is too be a second collaboration between Daft Punk and The Weeknd on this next LP also entitled “Starboy”.
Take a listen to the song that started all the hype below, and keep your fingers crossed for the incredibly unlikely announcement of Daft Punk touring the world in 2017.
