LA is a known to bring about some of the greatest names in music and it can be hard to find your footing when surrounded by so many king pin artists. On the other hand, Los Angeles can be a city that offers underground artists some of the most promise as you share the same streets as a large percentage of the greatest artists in dance music. I dug deep into the local LA scene to find out from the source what it is like to be an aspiring artist in the heart of arguably the largest city in Dance Music.
Xia Xia Technique (XXT) is one of many aspiring DJs coming up in quite possibly the worlds most difficult city to rise in as a musician. I sat down with XXT to ask a couple questions about themselves and ended up getting some insight into what it's like being a part of the local scene in LA, As well as some great info about this hidden gem of an artist. It turns out that large city's actually offer up opportunity for even the smaller artist that call them home. This inclusion creates a springboard effect that we see bring about the highest quality talent time and time again.
Q: What is it like being an up and coming artist in such a large city? LA is, by many, considered one of the biggest city's for dance music. How does that effect your rise?
A: Being an LA artist is great. The music community is massive and there are so many producers and artists who support each other. These are politically tense times, and we feel the LA music scene as a whole is hitting back with support, love and confidence.
Q: What is the meaning behind the name Xia Xia Technique?:
A: Xia Xia Technique (X.X.T) is a code of law followed by the chivalrous and noble swordsman of ancient times. It is what is referred today as the act of slaying.

Q: How do you describe your sound and what sets it apart?
A: Our sound is a collage of grit and flash futuristic pop, experimental dance, and hip hop.
The creative spirit of O.D.B. inspires us along with living artists like Diplo, GTA, M.I.A., Missy Elliot, and Eminem to name a few.
X.X.T’s music is for everyone who seeks truth and understanding in their fellow human beings; no matter where they are in the galaxy, or on the astral plane.

Q: What are your plans for 2017?:
A: We have a ton of new music coming out on Soundcloud including a collaboration with 813 (Mad Decent).
We’ll be releasing a new comic series that reveals the identity of X.X.T.
Also, touring the planet.
And I may be getting a new severe haircut.
