Under the dark night sky, in the urban streets of Wynwood, Miami lies an intimate nightclub where people not only listen to music but where they experience and enjoy the hottest, best underground techno that Miami has to offer. Straight from the boroughs of New York City comes Myroslaw Bytz. Currently holding residencies at each of the clubs at the forefront of the New York underground: Output, TBA Brooklyn, and Bossa Nova Civic Club. We had the chance to catch his debut performance at Electric Pickle.
“It seems like they party every night in Miami, last time I was here was in 2004 for WMC. It’s been greatly developed over the past years and it’s really exciting to be here, yeah, it has it's New York feels to it. It’s finally coming into a real music scene and showing more light to the underground techno scene.”
Myroslaw Bytz (also known as Blysk, Vzaem, Tricyclic) has been producing all flavors of electronic music and audio experimentation for over 15 years. Since 2012, he has been instrumental in the rise of Brooklyn as an international capital of electronic music, curating and producing over 300 events in New York City, encompassing the breadth of techno, house, bass music, trip-hop and even reggae, jazz, and sound art — including the DESCENT bass music weekly, Dub Champions Festival, and Megapolis Audio Festival.
Throughout the years of music evolving, different genres gaining more popularity every year.
“Being a techno DJ-producer for me, obviously I love what I do, I just play what I like. I’ve been producing music since 1998 but I wasn’t always playing techno, I experimented with trap, hip/hop, drum & bass, even dubstep. Then I ventured into techno but that wasn’t until six years ago. For me, you need to keep a musical minds, then anything can happen. It’s all about music and soul.”
Bytz has played regularly at the top nightclubs in NYC, including Output, Verboten, Space Ibiza, National Underground, and Sullivan Room, as well as acclaimed warehouse parties such as Blkmarket Membership and Rinsed. He founded the Secret Guests collective in 2014 to showcase and develop the finest underground artists and DJs in his native city, and in 2015 co-founded the critically acclaimed and uncompromisingly eclectic Bushwick A/V after-hours series.
That night at Electric Pickle, Myroslaw lit up the entire club with his sensual, soothing, groovy tunes. Putting a smile on everyone's face, the room was filled with soulful techno lovers, begging for that taste of the underground techno scene.
