Deadmau5 has been teasing a new live performance to go along with his album which has dropped today. The album which we have reported that you can find the unpolished versions of tracks online, has been met with some critical controversy. Oddly enough not from any actual critics, but from Deadmau5 himself. He claims that he feels his full heart was not behind the effort. Personally we still think it is an amazing album but more on that later today with an official review. We are here to talk about something that Deadmau5 can get behind with every ounce of his heart and soul, the new and upgraded cube.
In a live stream yesterday evening Deadmau5 let us peek in on a rehearsal of his new and improved live show. He still stays perched upon the cube but the Cube {dubbed as 2.1) has many new features. The individual panels of the cube now seem to no longer be entirely stationary. We also saw new effects of the individual screens, like the panels becoming mirror boxes, similar to Flume's signature stage. While the full stream is no longer available, you can check out bits and pieces in the teaser video below.
Wait of course there is more…you notice those city names? Well, what is better to pair with a sneak peek of live shows than a full tour schedule as well. Deadmau5 took to his socials to announce the “lots of shows in a row” tour. He is not kidding with that name either, it looks like April is going to be a demanding month for the Mau5. We hope that these are just preliminary dates, as he is missing a few key parts of the country. Regardless you can take a look below at his Instagram post and see if he will be stopping by a city near you!
