World renowned music and arts festival, Burning Man, Promises an experience of a lifetime in the middle of the Black Rock Desert desert. The totally immersive experience digs deep into music, art, fashion, and overall culture in a way unparalleled at other art festivals. The themed music and arts festivals is a top notch event, with past years themes leaving big shoes to fill.
On Wednesday Burning Man announced their all new theme for the 2017, Titled “Radical Ritual”. Their description of the theme, released via Burning Man Journal, read as follows:
“In 2017, we will invite participants to create interactive rites, ritual processions, elaborate images, shrines, icons, temples, and visions. Our theme will occupy the ambiguous ground that lies between reverence and ridicule, faith and belief, the absurd and the stunningly sublime. The human urge to make events, objects, actions, and personalities sacred is protean. It can fix on and inhabit anyone or anything. This year our art theme will release this spirit in the Black Rock Desert.”
It is always an exciting experience to see the diverse collection of larger than life art installations, sparing no creative in the least. This years theme will offer the chance to “reinvent ritual in our post-modern world” forgetting all “assertions of belief and instead concentrating on the immediate purpose of play”. 2017 in many ways is gearing up to be a big year in dance music and this is yet another amazing announcement for 2017.
