Illenium's “Ashes” was a personal favorite of mine last year so naturally I was overjoyed when the remix album was released. The Mushroomizer remix, however, was a separate discovery and the young producer may take the cake as my new favorite “Ashes” remix. That's not to knock the official remixes, it is just insane.

The official remixes are all amazing, but they travel a beaten path. They simply fail to bring something new to the table. Meanwhile, the Mushroomizer remix of “Without You” does just the contrary. It challenges the original while still maintaining a light on what made “Without You” so beautiful to begin with.
