Insomniac has just pulled out the UK in what might be the largest exit from the country since the American Revolution. While their main stay event of EDC has held it's British edition outside of London for the past three years, the event's website suddenly read that it will not be taking place this year. The reason for the cancellation was cited as such:
“Our plans to grow & improve the festival at Milton Keynes had not developed as we had hoped […] (We will) indefinitely postpone the show until we can properly re-imagine all areas of the experience.”
EDC UK did have some difficulties last year. It was noted by many that the festival had an overall sense of chaos and was not prepared for the large crowd which took to the festival quite fast. While this is yet another death in the EDC family after the cancellation of EDCNY late last year, Insomniac is definitely in no trouble. CEO and Founder Pasquale Rotella announced a month ago that Insomniac has some serious changes and expansions planned for 2017. So while we grieve the loss of EDCUK for this year, we are still more excited than ever for what is next from the powerhouse.
