This year Awakenings will be celebrating 20 years in the game with a series of events and festivals over the course of the year. On Saturday, June 24th, and Sunday, June 25th, the premises of the recreational area Spaarnwoude Houtrak will be dedicated to Awakening Festival, the best-known and largest outdoor techno festival in the world, with over 110 artists spread over 8 stages in capacious areas, among which 2 large-scale outdoor stages.
Awakenings is known as the biggest techno festival in the world. In April the celebration begins with the threshold of 200 parties organized will be broken, representing over 2000 hours of partying. Moreover, a total number of 1.5 million visitors will be reached. Techno in all its diversity will be showcased; besides the biggest names of the contemporary scene, there is as always also lots of space for new talent, new sounds and the latest, state-of-the-art developments in the area of light, sound and stage set. Where techno artists from parts of the globe come together to The Netherlands to showcase their newest techno tunes and to celebrate the love of techno with all their friends and fans.
The 20-year-old Awakenings Festival has managed to contract a number of resounding names such as Paul Kalkbrenner will making his come-back with a new live show. The presence of Wighnomy Brothers has also been confirmed. They have reunited for a few exclusive shows, of which Awakenings is one. And on Sunday, stages will be hosted by, among others, Adam Beyer with Drumcode and Joris Voorn with Spektrum.
There will be 8 stages and fans alike can witness a star-studded cast of Sven Vath, Ricardo Villalabos, Maceo Plex, Chris Liebing, Joseph Capriati, Dave Clarke, Tale of Us, Loco Dice, Floorplan, Weval, The Black Madonna, Black Coffee, Len Faki and KiNK who have all been confirmed to perform this summer.
