When Interview Magazine reached out to Flume about his album ‘Skin,' they asked “why did you choose the title ‘Skin?' and “do you think there's a theme throughout the album?” Harley Streten also known as Flume said “I didn't feel like there was a theme. There were definitely ups and downs creatively. There were some times where I worried about being good—as people will do when you're making your second record. I liked the idea of skin because it's super weird and a little unsettling, like an organism. But at the same time skin is intimate and personal and organic, and that's what I want the music to be. At first it's a little uncomfortable and jarring, but I want it to feel intimate and personal. I want it to feel like it's alive.”
