As the Grammys kick off this weekend, its Daft Punk who are the talk of the town, after opening a pop-up store in LA ahead of their Grammy’s appearance. After a feature on The Weeknd’s latest album at the back end of 2016 and the announcement of a Grammy performance with the man himself, the Daft Punk hype continues to gain momentum as we wait for a new record and remain hopeful for a world tour.
Open to the public, the pop-up store features an exclusive shopping experience while also taking a dip into the Daft Punk archives, showcasing props, outfits, instruments, posters and facts about the band's history. On display you’ll find outfits from Tron, Alive tour, Discovery and Electroma and their previous Grammys appearance, instruments from ‘Lose Yourself to Dance’, while even delivering an ode to their film Interstella 5555.
If you’re not a Daft Punk history buff, don’t worry. The store is packed out with refreshed Daft Punk merchandise including T-shirts, caps, sweatshirts and bomber jackets. Our guess is that it won’t be long until some of these wind up on Ebay.
If you’re in LA head over to the store on 8818 Melrose Ave, which will be open to the public from February 11-19.
