Bassnectar, a bass music legend, has always been known for his unique live sets, detailed music producing, and incredible love for his fan base. His will to generate (pun intended) out-of-the-box music allows his audience to gets down to songs that are truly live and direct.
Bassnectar recently released a message on his website updating followers what was to come for this year, including a sold-out show in Atlantic City and a new remix to be released through Spinnin’ Records. What appeared to be a great sign of things to come for him in 2017, seemed to have taken a turn for the worst. The record label received this remix and it might not have had as much effort put in as we all thought. The original song, Front to Back by Buku, had high praises from bass loving enthusiasts. However, the hype about Bassnectar remixing the track had a bunch of people on the edge of their seats to see what the Vava Voom artist had created. Given this was his first release since June of 2016, the result of the song was subpar to the expectations. The remix almost sounds like an edit and doesn’t sound that much different than the original. All that seems to have been added was background noises and a different drum pattern. Although Bassnectar encourages people to have an open mind while listening to his music, this song doesn’t do justice to songs he has made in the past. 2017 may not have started on a great note, but his fans never know what to expect out of him so keep your eyes peeled.
