Calvin Harris has been all over the news in the EDM world lately. Mainly due to the promise of an insane amount of new music coming at any moment. The first taste of the 10 songs that he has promised is the smash hit collaboration with Frank Ocean and Offset, ‘Slide'.
Frank Ocean recently took to the web to breakdown some of the lyrics which he penned for the song. This gave us insight into the idea that ‘Slide' is about someone trying to slide into an affluent lifestyle after not being brought up in one. Even more recently Calvin took to Snapchat to let us know that a follow up to the track will be dropping any day now.
Tonight Calvin Harris took to his Instagram to give us some serious behind the scenes access to how he created the track. Piece by piece, instrument by instrument, riff by riff. I jumped at the chance, and had to record the story off my computer via my phone – so quality could be better but still this is an absolutely incredible behind the scenes peek at a creative process. Calvin shows how he records different pieces of riffs and layers them to give the track it's signature laid back summer vibe. Check out the video below.
