With a new release lighting up Epic Amsterdam right now, it was only right for us to seek out Dutch production crew LittleKings to hear about their Musical Guilty Pleasures…
1) The Sunclub – “Fiesta”
The original tropical house anthem, if you ask us. It has everything what a track needs. And although the plucks, all though the delay (echo effect) are not really up to date anymore, you can hear similar sounds and the pattern they play in a lot of tracks nowadays.
2) Skrillex & Diplo – “Where Are You Now? With Justin Bieber
Groundbreaking track. Two of worlds biggest producers decide to team up with an icon like Justin Bieber, who didn't have a great reputation at that time, and instantly the world loves him. Production-wise a great mix of styles that brings a very unique sound, and a Pioneer in that pitched vocal hype.
3) LittleKings – “I Love Your Smile”
The original track by Shanice is an anthem for us 90's kids, with typical 90's production and a killer hook. We flipped it as our contribution to the whole 90's cover hype, and while the chords of the track aren't aren't the usual mold, we think it worked out quite well.
4) Swedish House Mafia – “One” (Your Name)
For us a mark of the beginning of the whole EDM period. The production power from SHM together with Pharrell's vocals make it a perfect house-gone-pop track.
5) Blackstreet – “No Diggity” ft. Dr. Dre, Queen Pen
Because 90's again. A tribute to hip hop taking over pop music from the mid 90's to the first 10 years of the Zero's. Who doesn't love this one?!
