Katy Perry's newest single “Chained to the Rhythm” is one of her more dance-inspired tracks. With pop-infused disco sounds and a chorus that illustrates the common connection many EDM fans feel when listening to their favorite song, this track was pretty much begging for a remix.
The one and only Oliver Heldens brought his own futuristic house sound to the already catchy song. The update is more upbeat and puts even more emphasis on the lyrics than the original. And frankly, to do a remix of this song justice it makes sense to play up the chorus of “being chained to the rhythm” while infusing it with additional layers of elastic-sounding beats, as well as play up the echoing synth for a cohesive sound that you can certainly dance to.
