Steve Angello certainly built up the hype around his Coachella 2017 set this past week. As we watch the ‘live stream' of the set which happened about an hour ago we were freaking floored to see the scope of his new music. While we were disappointed that we did not get the Swedish House Mafia reunion we had hoped for, Steve's new album appears to be a juggernaut.
Steve Angello Brings Out IDs For Coachella
Having checked with the identification gurus over at 1001 Tracklists, we were blown away to see that 5 out of the 18 tracks Steve played during his hour on the Sahara Stage were in fact IDs. Steve opened up to visuals of the passion of the Christ with samples of a preacher. This was his latest track which has been hyped up all week – ‘Almost Human'.
One is with his younger sibling AN21 but the other four appear to be entirely solo projects. Steve really tore down his time slot at Coachella with intense grinding rhythms that bordered on the aggressive as well as the sublime. A beautiful progressive house, electro and tech based set created a frenzy in the audience. Steve Angello made an unofficial statement that a ton of new music should be expected soon. We are staying alert for any sign of these IDs as they appear online. We can only hope that we will get to listen soon. Our hats are off to Steve…this set was incredible.
