With the Life In Color X Tour coming up on it's Philadelphia stop, we sat down with Seven Lions to ask a few questions before the big day:
First, I have to ask…how's the Lembas Bread on this tour?
Lembas Bread is always important. Its hard to stay fit so a proper elf diet is always a good thing.
Congratulations on the success of Freesol! It's a truly mesmerizing track.
Thank you! I've been playing it out for a while now and its good to finally release.
You released Freesol on the Seeking Blue record label. Do you plan to eventually release more through them or was it a one time thing?
Definitely more coming out on Seeking Blue in the very near future.
Happy Belated Birthday! Did you get to do anything cool to celebrate?
My wife took me to the Game of Thrones musical experience that came through Seattle. It was pretty awesome.
You recently went to Taiwan for Looptopia. How was it different from any of your shows in North America?
Looptopia was fun, definitely a different crowd than in the US. Some genres of music just didn't go over well at all there. Felt a little like the US did 3 or 4 years ago.
Now that you've done a bus tour and you've launched into your spring tour, which do you prefer?
I prefer a bus because its awesome falling asleep and waking up in another city, unlike flying which is pretty shit if you have to do it every day. Other than that the touring is really the same.
So there was quite a bit of speculation about your announcements and the possibility of an EP. (In fact, your marketing team is full of geniuses.) Can you tell us if we should expect more releases soon?
The next two months will have lots of announcements.
You've done quite a few Life in Color events. Have anything up your sleeve for their 10 year anniversary?
Some new tunes I have just finished. Pretty stoked to see how they go over.
This is the first year of Middle Lands. As a Game of Thrones lover, what are you most looking forward to about this festival?
LARPing. Hope the festival brings out the real nerds and its fun.
Last, any chance of more secret DJ Emmi sets?
For sure, she has been playing at home a lot!
With the News of new tunes in due time, we can't wait to see his set on April 22nd in Philadelphia. In addition to Seven Lions, Jauz, Herobust, and Solano will also be performing. If you haven't purchased your tickets yet, there's still time! In the meantime, listen to the aforementioned Freesol below:
