In the ever growing market of technology and social media there is always either A) Something new or B) someone copying another platforms idea. This week we got something new from Snapchat. Snapchat introduced a new feature called “World Lenses” that gives users the opportunity to build augmented reality into the daily lives.
This new feature works similarly to the ever popular face-sensoring filters that we love and over use. However, recently you'll notice that when you turn the Camera and start flipping through the filters that are new “World Lense” options that allow you to place 3D objects around you in your video and move them around as if it were a real object.
The feature is very cool and features emojis, short phrases, and word bubbles but most importantly it shows what the technology guru's over at snapchat are capable of. Who knows what the next big upgrade to Snapchat will be. You can watch the introduction video for “World Lenses” below, then try out for yourself and tell us what you think of the new feature.
