In the wake of the largest massacre in modern US history there has been quite the debate on what should be done with the existing property that Pulse Nightclub once called home. The Owner Barbara Poma had at one point considered selling the property to the city allowing them to make the final decision on what to do with the property but at the last minute pulled out of the deal and announced that she would head up memorializing the site.
This past Thursday Barbara Poma announced in cooperation with the onePulse foundation, created by her, that the site would be transformed into a memorial/museum. Her message was that of healing and community saying “Pulse was a part of this community in so many ways and the only way to preserve that legacy is by community”.
The designing of the memorial is still in it's initial phases and according to Barbara will be a “long emotional journey”. You can learn more about the onePulse memorial here.
