One of the biggest names in trance music got intimate with his fans in a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” forum over the weekend.
Andrew Rayel, who's currently on tour promoting his new album, Moments, took some time to answer questions from his fans right before he took to the stage at the famous Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles Saturday night.
During the AMA session, Rayel opened up to questions pertaining to his new album, the current trance scene, his own personal sound and more. Below are some of the highlights of the forum.
Q: Is there a festival or club you haven't played yet that you would absoutely love to get to play?
A: Maybe “Coachella“.
Q: What is your dream collaboration and what kind of track would you produce?
A: My dream collab is Hans Zimmer, and obviously it will be a classically based song, or a soundtrack for a movie, or a trance track.
Q: Your music is often described as a cross between Big Room and Trance, do you find it easier to appeal to fans of Big Room or “pure” trance fans and why do you think it's easier?
A: I would say I'm somewhere in the middle, and I always was. That's the sound I love. When I produce music I never think which fans are easier to appeal. I'm just doing what I like, and the anyone is free to like it or not 🙂
Q: How do you address people who say your music isn't trance anymore?
A: I respect all the opinions, even if it's an objective one.
