I've personally been taking bets on when we were going to get our first solid remix from Kendrick Lamar's new album DAMN. And the good news is, one has finally arrived. This one comes to us from Louis Futon and is a flip on “PRIDE.”
Released via his “second [Soundcloud] page for bonus beats,” Louis Futon dropped an uber mellow version of the original song this past week. The pace is slow, methodical and a nice companion to Lamar's version. Don't let the words “mellow” and “slow” turn you away from the track. It's still holds a lot of power and does the original song plenty of justice. There's even an extended version available for download and a video to see just how Futon made the remix.
In all fairness, my guess is that this is just the start of the Kendrick Lamar remix train. I imagine we'll see lots of different versions and varieties when it comes to this album and frankly, I'm excited.
