Calvin Harris has been a busy man the last few months. Earlier this year Calvin promised a ton of new music was to come and so far he has delivered. Calvin has mainly been dropping massive collaborations including ‘Slide' with Offset and Frank Ocean, then ‘Heatstroke' with Ariana Grande, Young Thug and Pharrell.
While we loved ‘Slide' to say the least, we had more of a mixed reaction to ‘Heatstroke'. Initially the tune had too much going on. It was a bit of a fever dream of voices sometimes clashing rather than harmonizing. That being said the track has grown on us over the last weeks. Today now though Calvin has released yet another new single filled with collaborators.
Calvin Continues His Collaborative Efforts With ‘Rollin'
Calvin announced in 2015 that he was done making albums, so the artist has stayed true to that promise (kind of?) by announcing a compilation, which he announced last week. Each track features one of the hottest artists on the Billboard charts. Today we get ‘Rollin' featuring both Future and DJ Khalid. Honestly as skeptical as we were about this song based off of name and collaborators alone, upon hearing this…it will without a doubt find the same success ‘Slide' did, if not more. It is a return to classic form for Calvin which is a continuation of the theme of the compilation. Calvin is making original, disco inspired beats reminding us of his ‘I Created Disco' days, but now he is using his star power to bring on A-List collaborators. Check it out below, what are your thoughts on it?
