Having only recently delivered his Afterglow EP for Quality Goods Records, producer and DJ sumthin sumthin is continuing to develop as one of the hottest future bass talents around right now. We grabbed his Musical Guilty Pleasures to get to know him better…
1) Baby Bash – “Suga Suga”
This track came out around the time when I was still riding around in car seats. I recognise that guitar riff everywhere and it brings back the craziest nostalgia. Such a good beat!
2) Nelly – “Hot in Herre”
This was the first throwback song l played when I used to DJ in high school. I have countless memories of entire houses/backyards filling to capacity just to sing along to this song.
3) Coldplay – “Fix You”
A classic tear jerker. I sang/performed this song for my 6th grade talent show and it has resonated a deep emotional feeling since I can remember. Probably the most cliché song of theirs, but still one of my favorites.
4) Missy Eliot – “Lose Control” ft. Ciara & Fatman Scoop
This was the first “dirty” beat I had ever experienced as a young lad. This song had way too much to do with my interest/inspiration in hip hop & weird sounds. I still go hard whenever I hear it.
5) Nelly Furtado -“Promiscuous” ft. Timbaland
There is just something about this song that makes me feel good. To this day, the chorus gets me way too hyped. With a solid melody, it's probably one of the best pop songs of its time. Thank you, Timbaland.
