Known for his infectious style of deep house, this week we wanted to hear more from rising talent jackLNDN. With his latest single “Never Get Enough” still doing the rounds, he shares his Musical Guilty Pleasures.
1) Hall & Oats – “Sara Smile”
One of the all time OG slow jam ballads. And a great throwback every time. Also it has a very hilarious vocal at the very, very end of the song during the fade out. Crazy.
2) Christopher Cross – “Ride Like The Wind”
We pump this every time we are driving up to the mountains to hit the snow. Living in CO has many benefits and we enjoy them all! This song gets me so fired up and the hilarious cameo/backing vocals from Michael McDonald are nothing short of genius!
3) Britney Spears – “Hit Me Baby One More Time”
Ummm the baseline… duh. Whoever was writing that era of Britney was crushing the bass game. Plenty of slap in a 90s pop song – impressive. You hear it right at the start.
4) Zac Brown Band – “Colder Weather”
I’m new to purely American music, but living with a dude from Texas who loves country music has quickly changed that, haha. I also saw him play Hangout fest in Alabama a couple years ago and it was insanely good. It’s worth noting the mentions of Colorado in this song give it an extra special singalong quality.
5) Bootsy Collins – “I’d Rather Be With You”
This has the best sung “yeaaaaah” in all of music! This isn’t even a guilty pleasure of mine, I’m super proud.
