Here at EDM Sauce, and sometimes just as humans, we find ourselves stuck in our own world. Our own local bubble that keeps our imaginations limited and our tastes controlled. There's a whole world out there of undiscovered music, and unattended music festivals. And by George! I think we found the best one just across the pond.
South West Four is London's annual two-day festival held in the beautiful Clapham Common. Similar in style to Philadelphia's Made in America festival, the festival is traditionally over the English Summer Bank Holiday weekend which corresponds with the American Labour Day Holiday.
South West Four started as a simple gathering of electronic music lovers in South London in 2004, where the festival derives its name from. Since then the festival has grown to be one of England's biggest and most reputable festivals featuring performances from house and tech legends such as Carl Cox, Skrillex, Steve Angello, Sasha, Seth Troxler and many, many more.
This year, SW4 is bringing the heat yet again to close out festival season in London. The festival will feature performances by Pendulum Live, Duke Dumont, Sonny Fedora vs. Low Steppa, Marshmello, Eric Prydz, Solomun, MK, Hannah Wants, Claptone, Netsky and Don Diablo. And that's just Satuday. Yeah… our jaws some how managed to drop more and more as we read down the list.
Pendulum Live? You heard right. This will be their first performance together in six years. Sonny Fedora vs. Low Steppa is an impressive b2b that any lover of tech would be foolish to sleep on. And who doesn't love a small dash of DnB from the King of DnB himself, Netsky.
As for Sunday, you're going to have to pick back up your jaw and prepare it to drop once more. Artists by the likes of Deadmau5, Knife Party, Sub Focus Live, Jauz, Tchami, Whats So Not, Loco Dice, Dusky Live, Cosmic Gate, Ilan Bluestone and Shiba San will be blessing south London with their talent.
It is rumored that Deadmau5 will bring with him his cube 2.1, an obvious must see. The second day of this two day festival definitely features more mainstream artists such as Jauz and Whats So Not, but those two acts are some of the hottest in the US and the world right now.
Wow. Not only does London know how to book a festival, they also know how to sell one. But frankly, this one sells itself. SW4 weekend passes are already sold out, but you can still snag your day passes here while you have the chance.
If you are lucky enough to find yourself in this neck of the woods this August, you'll know where to find us.
