This past January, Esquire's Matt Miller wrote about the comparison between Nickelback and The Chainsmokers. The article received some criticism, but a lot of the points were fairly accurate in terms of commonalities between the two artists.
During a brief interview with PEOPLE, Nickelback gave some advice to The Chainsmokers by saying “Don't Google yourself. I never look at press, I never look at comments on anything, it's like what for. If you're looking for negativity it's easy to find.”
The Chainsmokers responded to a tweet by YourEDM stating “Lol yeah you don't give a guck about them love the people that support you and keep proving everyone wrong duh.”
