This compilation features one of the best releases of the year so far. Slow Hours' remix of ‘Lone' is one of the most impressively produced tracks I have ever heard. The pure energy, grittiness and power behind their remix is enough to give this compilation a 5 star rating, but how do the other featured remixes fare?
Power, Depth and Range Throughout
‘Divide and Conquer' was a downright savage EP. The title track was one of the most impressive releases last year. So artists on remix duty had a lot to live up to. In most cases they went above and beyond expectations. Noisia is another stand out remixer and appear on the EP as the only artists who remixed ‘Divide and Conquer'. They weaved in high intensity DnB through the trap banger and the result is borderline hypnotic.
SLUMBERJACK's remix of ‘Lone' also stands out as a top dog on the nine track effort. The artist has taken the original and elevated it with unique future bass synths. I never thought I would find myself using the words unique and future bass in the same sentence but SLUMBERJACK has taught me anything is possible.
Overall the remix package for ‘Divide and Conquer' is strong, and filled with edits that surpass the original in quality and excitement. This one earns the EDM Sauce seal of approval with ease. The only thing keeping it from a perfect 5 stars are some remixes that are relatively forgettable. Check out all 9 tracks below.
