During Independence Day weekend I had the opportunity to attend an all star event, and let me just say that it was an experience I won't soon forget. Governors Island became home to not only an array of bursting fireworks and patriotism but also to the sweet and rhythmic sounds of some of the world's best house and technos djs.
The event itself blew my expectations, what I thought would be a small underground tech house concert became a large scale mini festival. It was set up in way that would make any concert goer wanting more. The stages, the artists and the crowd all joined together to create something that was truly amazing to witness.
As I said before it was like a mini festival, being that it had two stages. There was always someone to see and a whole new blend of music to dance to. All of the djs threw down, from the sweet selections of Maya Jane Coles and Jackmaster to the rhythmic vibes of the techno grand master Richie Hawtin.
HYTE has always been known to curate huge events and this one was no different. It was something that I'm sure a lot of house and techno aficionados will remember for a long time, or at least until HYTE makes its way back to NYC next year.
After this I'm sure everyone is itching for the next one, so in order to satisfy your tech house urges I have provided you with some photos taken from the event. Take a look at the some of the action below..
