As pop and hip hop continue to dominate most of the award's ceremonies today, EDM has staked its place in the ground for this year's MTV Video Music Awards set to return on Sunday, August 27th.
The Chainsmokers and Calvin Harris lead with two nominations each for EDM as a whole. This year, Calvin Harris will go up against Afrojack, Major Lazer, Zedd and Kygo for this year's Best Dance Video category. While The Chainsmokers were not nominated for Best Dance Video, The Chainsmokers were nominated for Best Editing and Best Collaboration.
