2017 has been quite a year for Lucas & Steve thus far. From playing the MainStage @ Tomorrowland to hit singles “Up Till Dawn”, “These Heights”, “Feel Alive”, “Calling on You” and “Let's Go” (yeah they have all dropped this year), it would appear we are witnessing the take-off of these studs. Firebeatz are another Dutch duo that have always held a special place in my heart for their hard hitting Big-Room sets. Put four Dutchmen in a room and your bound to get one of two things, a hell of a ‘stroopwafel' pastry or a Electric Music banger. Though many ‘stroopwafel' may have been shared in the making of this track, let's stick with the certainties here and Electric banger is just that.
Utilizing high-pitch vocals and a smooth intro (sounds almost middle eastern like a KSHMR track but far lighter), we are quickly taken to a more uptempo bridge and into the Progressive Drop that is “Show Me Your Love”. I am not going to say this is the best track dropped by these guys to date, but, it is a hell of a beat. The thing I love about it, it lacks an extreme vocal presence which is hard to steer clear from with Modern Progressive/Dance-pop. This track holds tight to the importance of the beat and delivers on all cylinders. Songs like this really resinate with me. This style is what lured me into this world.
The best part about this track, there are no lyrics to take away from the story of the song, it's up to you to create it (artsy af, I know). It is going to be a career changing year for Lucas x Steve as they continue to dominate the European circuit. Things are shaping up well for them to build on this momentum and join the party in the US-and-A next Festival season. Spinnin Records continues to put out some of the best music in the world and “Show Me Your Love” is no exception.
