Nicky Romero x Cheat Codes Drop Summer Tune “Sober”

As far back as I can remember, Nicky Romero has been slaying production equipment. From “I Can be the One” to “Like Home” to “Toulouse” (I could go on forever), its hard to remember a time we weren't bumping to Nicky Romero. This time, he has teamed up with the Cali-Native-trio, Cheat Codes for an instant summer hit, “Sober”.

The track is made up of soothing vocals that mesh beautifully with the seamlessly perfect progressive production. The slow intro morphs into a love story that turns to a feel good drop with feels of Tostitos and margaritas. This song reminds me, almost too much, of The Chainsmokers “All We Know”. It has that same stomach churning mesh of vocals and production that morph into a drop that just perfectly delivers the emotional message. The song is an instant hit. Disclaimer, I don't think the Chainsmokers got nearly enough credit for that track, in my opinion its the best track they have delivered since signing with Columbia (aside from Roses). “Sober” brings the same feel to a different setting. Final product, still perfecto.

The Cheat Codes have been everywhere lately. It seems like every show I go to the Cheat Codes are throwing down hard sets. I saw these dudes open for Audien and Space Ibiza NYC (RIP) and at one point Trevor and KEVI where running around the dance floor just having the time of their lives. I saw one of them get handed a Jack and Coke and slug it in 2.8 seconds, it was legendary. I love the energy. The trio from LA dropped a single with Demi Levato earlier this year and now have teamed with the Legendary Dutchman, Nicky Romero for another smash hit.

This track is easily one of my favorites of the year so far within the “Pop-Drop” genre. A must add to your summer playlist and a certain replay song for Labar Day Weekend (sad, but, its closer than you think). Peep the track below and keep an eye out for the Cheat Codes. American Youth making a move.
