Music festivals seem to be popping up all over the country these days. Every year we see small local festival crop up usually with moderate success. Then occasionally extravagant festivals form and sometimes things go terribly awry. Case in point – Fyre Festival or even the ill fated, Karoondinha. That is why when we first got News of Denver's ‘super festival' we were a bit worried. But upon learning who was behind it, our minds were put at ease.
Superfly Spear Heads A New Event
Superfly Productions expressed interest in holding a new super-festival on the site of an upscale golf course in Denver, Colorado. The company, which might sound familiar, as they are the promoters of both Outside lands and Bonnaroo which both have boasted some of the most impressive line ups of 2017. Superfly expects to create a festival catering to multiple genres, and heavily involved the local Denver music, food and art communities. Their initial estimates range at around 80,000 people over the course of a 3 day event.
Denver City Council Gives Green Light
After careful deliberation, the Denver city council has gave Superfly the green light to hold a 3 day festival in September of 2018. Many local residents are excited for the event and the positive impact it will have on the community. That being said the usual concerns including noise issues were cited as potential issues. Still the Denver city council voted in favor the event permit 10-3. Overland Park Golf Course will be the new home to America's next super festival come 2018.
