Today we're happy to premiere a new drop by the producer, HRDY. “Cruel Summer” is a take on the classic Bananarama track which was huge in the 80's. And it just happens to be one of my favorite pop hits from that era. It can be tricky to re-work an iconic song, but HRDY definitley pulls it off by re-building the layers from scratch and teaming up with the vocalist, Malvina. She does the original vocal justice, capturing the 80's vibe while bringing her own modern flavor into the mix. The production has a nice retro-wave style with bouncy 80's synth bass and choice percussion. It's all matched to a faster paced electro-house tempo, keeping the energy high. So tune in for the classic-turned-banger, “Cruel Summer” and a big thanks to HRDY and Malvina for the premiere opportunity!
