Back on August 4th, Steve Angello made headlines after releasing the 2-track EP titled Genesis. The lead single “Rejoice” features the powerful spoken words of Thomas Dexter Jakes aka T.D. Jakes, a pastor of The Potter's House. Despite having one of the most inspiring ministries in the world today, Steve Angello decided to team up with T.D. Jakes on the gospel-fuel anthem off Steve Angello's Chapter 1 EP.
During a recent Instagram post, Steve Angello said that “Rejoice” was the most powerful piece of music that he's ever created. “It wasn’t written to fill a void or accomplish status – this is pure motivation, inspiration and honesty expressed by an incredible bishop that changed me completely. I’ve never done anything like it and I’ve never worked with words that meant more in my entire career. This record is ground-breaking for me as an individual. It came into my life when I needed it the most and I had to make that moment last forever by immortalizing it.”
