Earlier this morning (October 7th), Diplo announced his decision to donate $100,000 to the victims of Las Vegas's horrible shooting. Diplo also tweeted that he challenged other DJs and hotel owners to to match it. He tweeted “we owe it to the city.”
“My deepest sympathies are with the victims of this horrific tragedy and their families,” Diplo says. “It's my hope that these events will start a long awaited and honest conversation about the importance of gun control in America. Las Vegas is my home, and it's devastating to see this happen in such a vibrant city with an amazing community of people I consider my family.”
Diplo's donations will go to the Clark County Commission and will be distributed equally to victims and families of the shooting.
Shortly after Diplo's tweets, Valentino Khan and Kaskade decided to donate as well.
