Kygo has continually been raising the bar for all musicians who fall under the umbrella of electronic dance music. This week he is doing something that not many have tried to do so far. Release a new single each day. Martin Garrix pulled it off last year during ADE but unfortunately many of those singles got lost in the sands of time. Kygo has none the less still decided to go with the episodic release of his new album. Today marks the 2nd single this week and it is a wonderfully funky tune known as ‘Riding Shotgun'.
The new single features the soulful vocals of Bonnie Mckee and appears to be a collaborative effort with Oliver Nelson. Oliver is based out of Sweden and has gotten some recognition in recent years for high profile remixes, like if official one he did for Kesha. ‘Riding Shotgun' is full of catchy hooks and nostalgic lyrics. The track is a lot of fun to listen to. Particularly in the middle when Kygo infuses a bit more funk than we are familiar with when it comes to his originals. Overall this one will be a highlight of the new album.
